Andy Hopper, a Republican elected to the Texas State House in 2025 representing District 64, has recently shared several posts on social media addressing issues related to national remembrance and higher education in his district.
On September 11, 2025, Hopper reflected on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks. He wrote, “We made a promise 24 years ago to never forget the tragic day when the enemy of America, freedom, and Christianity tried to destroy our way of life and the freedoms bestowed upon us by our Creator and fought for with the blood of our forefathers. Today, 24 years later, we are https://t.co/yAO5ReYLhB”.
Later that day, Hopper referenced local engagement with a university in his district: “.@UNTsocial is in #HD64 and our office has been in contact with @UNTPrez about this. https://t.co/xAqosbkzsy” (September 11, 2025).
On September 12, he commented on standards of conduct at public universities: “If you can’t behave in a civilized fashion either as a student or a TA/prof, you should not be working at or enrolled in our public universities.”
Hopper succeeded Lynn Stucky as representative for Texas House District 64 after winning election in 2025.
