Andy Hopper, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 64th district, posted a series of statements on his social media account regarding recent actions and motions within the Texas House Republican caucus.

On August 25, 2025, Hopper stated, “The Texas House Republican caucus just voted against holding the Dems who fled accountable in any real way. This motion did NOT pass by the required majority.”

Later that day, he added, “Truth. The unity was nice while it lasted. And yet it is our duty to fight to bring this to a vote.

There is a motion being circulated to force this to the floor. Please call your Rep and demand that they sign on.” This post appeared as calls for further action among party members continued.

On August 26, 2025, Hopper commented on procedural matters within the chamber: “Reminder: the House Parliamentarian is not elected and should work for us, not the other way around.”

Hopper began serving in the Texas State House in 2025 after winning election to represent District 64, succeeding Lynn Stucky.
