Andy Hopper, a Republican elected in 2025 to represent Texas’s 64th House district, has recently made several statements on social media addressing legislative priorities and party dynamics.

On August 22, 2025, Hopper shared his appearance on a national news outlet, stating, “Enjoyed discussing the #BigBeautifulMap on @NEWSMAX yesterday!”

Two days later, on August 24, he expressed strong support for bringing a particular bill to the legislative floor: “1000%. Non-negotiable–this bill must come to the floor.”

On August 25, Hopper addressed actions by Democratic lawmakers and internal party relations. He wrote: “Dems abandoned their posts and there must be severe consequences that will forever deter such oath-breakers in the future.

BUT BEWARE: there are those in our party who wish to continue to parley favor with the dems to avoid working with conservatives.

No quarter. Victory or”

Hopper was elected following the departure of former state representative Lynn Stucky. His recent statements reflect ongoing tensions within the Texas legislature regarding legislative procedure and inter-party cooperation.
