Andy Hopper, a Republican elected in 2025 to represent Texas’ 64th House district, has recently used his social media platform to voice concerns about property taxes and legislative decisions in the state.
On September 4, 2025, Hopper commented on the conclusion of a legislative session, stating: ” The Texas House has adjourned and the 2nd Special Session is over. Texans are still being crushed by property taxes. No real penalties for dems who abandoned their post. Your tax $$ can still fund the campaigns of the swamp. I filed an amendment to #HR128 to provide https://t.co/ddlyuXQlqj”.
Later that same day, Hopper addressed First Amendment interpretations regarding religious displays in schools. He wrote: “If the state legislatures that ratified the 1st Amendment were informed that it would be used to keep the Ten Commandments out of schools, they would have NEVER ratified it. These rulings violate the original intent of the founders and the original public meaning of the Bill of https://t.co/4YPF0dC9Va” (September 4, 2025).
The following day, Hopper reiterated his stance on property taxes as a key concern for his district: “The #1 issue for #HD64 is crushing property taxes. I have ZERO reticence to return to fight for real structural changes that will put us on a path to elimination. #AxTheTax https://t.co/YcPeXyyYuC” (September 5, 2025).
Hopper assumed office after winning election in Texas’ District 64 earlier in 2025, succeeding Lynn Stucky as state representative.
