Later that day, Hopper expressed gratitude towards the organization behind the ranking. On July 17 he wrote: “Thank you, @Texas_Taxpayers! https://t.co/HvJOmlSo5H”.
Texans for Fiscal Responsibility is an advocacy group known for rating Texas legislators based on their voting records and positions related to fiscal policy and government spending. The group publishes annual scorecards that are referenced by lawmakers and political observers across Texas.
