Matt Shaheen, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 66th district since 2015, recently shared a series of posts on his social media platform addressing both community celebrations and political issues.

On February 4, 2026, Shaheen posted about participating in local festivities, stating, “Lots of fun celebrating the Lunar New Year, w/ so many friends from the Asian community.”

The following day, he commented on actions by school officials regarding student activism. On February 5, 2026, Shaheen wrote, “We will not tolerate liberal Democrat school officials using children for their extremist politics. School districts that facilitate student walkouts will lose funding.”

Later that same day, he addressed another issue involving education policy and cultural debates. In his post dated February 5, 2026, Shaheen stated, “Troubling this took so long, but another defeat for liberal Democrat extremists who want to sexualize & sexually disfigure children.”

Shaheen has served as state representative since replacing Van Taylor in 2015. As a legislator from Texas’s 66th House district and a member of the Republican Party, he has been vocal on matters related to education policy and cultural events within his constituency.
