Matt Shaheen, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 66th district since 2015, has posted several statements on his Twitter account addressing political and social issues.
On May 10, 2026, Shaheen shared a Bible verse in recognition of Mother’s Day: “Proverbs 31:27-29 She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.’ #SundayMorning #Jesus”.
The following day, May 11, 2026, Shaheen commented on current political debates by stating: “Liberal Democrat extremists trying to force their obsession w/ sex on others.”
Later that same day, he posted another message regarding political tensions: “Threats & acts of violence are becoming common among liberal extremists. The Democrat Party must address its systemic hate.”
Shaheen has represented Texas’s 66th House district since being elected in 2015. He succeeded Van Taylor as state representative for this area.
