Matt Shaheen, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing District 66 since 2015, has recently used his social media platform to criticize the Democratic Party and its supporters in a series of posts.

On January 12, 2026, Shaheen posted: “The Democratic Party is spiraling out of control, w/ crowds chanting death threats against ICE & Kristi Noem. These liberal extremists will be met with the full force of law enforcement & Democrat Communists will face a backlash at the polls.”

Later that day, he continued his criticism by sharing: “Article spotlights Maduro’s torture chambers. Democrats are an embarrassment, supporting human rights violators, illegals & terrorist groups like Hamas.” This post referenced allegations about U.S. political support for controversial international actors and groups.

On January 13, 2026, Shaheen addressed recent immigration enforcement actions in Minnesota: “Minnesota ICE operation, opposed by liberal Democrat extremists, capture illegals who are murderers & rapists.”

Shaheen was first elected to the Texas State House in 2015 after replacing Van Taylor as representative for District 66. His statements reflect ongoing partisan debates over immigration policy and foreign affairs.
