Matt Shaheen, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing District 66 since 2015, recently shared updates on social media about his activities and legislative concerns.
On August 8, 2025, Shaheen posted about attending a local political event: “Attending the Golden Corridor Republican Women meeting this evening listening to Congressman @RepKeithSelf.”
Later that day, he highlighted engagement with business leaders in Frisco: “Great to speak w/ small business owners at a recent @FriscoChamber event w/ @Google & @txbiz.” The tweet referenced collaboration between local businesses and major organizations such as Google and the Texas Association of Business.
In another post on August 8, Shaheen criticized Democratic lawmakers for their actions in the state legislature: “Once again the Derelict Democrats betrayed their constituents & stopped the House from addressing critical legislation such as flood disaster relief. Speaker @Burrows4TX will continue applying pressure on these Democrats who have abandoned their constituents. #txlege”
Shaheen has served in the Texas House since 2015 after succeeding Van Taylor. He has been active in both community events and legislative matters throughout his tenure.
