Matt Shaheen, a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives for District 66 since 2015, recently shared updates and personal reflections on his social media account.
On August 1, 2025, Shaheen announced new legislation related to election laws in Texas. He wrote, “Governor @GregAbbott_TX signed into law my legislation that increases penalties for election fraud. HB 5115 is a key piece of Election Integrity legislation. #txlege https://t.co/e0znjKrLxA”.
The following day, on August 2, he acknowledged the work of local political organizations and individuals. In his post he stated, “Way to go @haydenpadgett! Incredibly grateful for the @TexasYRs & all they do to #KeepTexasRed https://t.co/imycqixRtD”.

Shaheen has represented Texas’s 66th House district since succeeding Van Taylor in 2015.
