Matt Shaheen, a Republican who has represented Texas’s 66th House district since 2015, shared several updates on his social media accounts this week regarding political events and personal reflections.
On February 6, 2026, Shaheen posted about an event supporting Mayes Middleton’s campaign for Texas Attorney General. He wrote, “Held a meet & greet for my friend @mayes_middleton, who is running for Texas Attorney General. We closed the event w/ prayers for Mayes & his family.”
The following day, February 7, 2026, Shaheen highlighted another political gathering in his district. In his words: “Awesome event this week, put on by several clubs, giving candidates the opportunity to engage voters.”
On February 8, 2026, Shaheen shared a religious message with his followers. He posted: “Psalm 37:23-24 The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand. #SundayMorning #Jesus”
Shaheen was first elected to the Texas State House in 2015 after replacing Van Taylor as representative of District 66.
