City of Lewisville seeks community input on Development Block Grant allocation

Officials in the City of Lewisville are requesting that the public provide comments on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Annual Action Plan.

The CDBG document will be available for public viewing until  Aug. 3 at 151 W. Church St. It will also be available on the Neighborhood Services page on the City’s website. 

According to the document, Lewisville will receive $768,876 in CDBG funding. The city plans to attach close to $170,000 in City Social Service Agency funding. Of that total, social services will distribute $115,331 to the court-appointed lawyers office, the Denton County Friends of the Family program, PediPlace and SPAN programs.

The Housing and Community Development Projects will distribute $499,769 to the Park Development, Habitat for Humanity Land Acquisition, and Housing Rehabilitation for Minor Repair. 

The city administration will receive close to $153,775 and distribute that total to various charities in the city.
