The City of Lewisville will hold a public hearing to solicit opinions on neighborhood needs, social service priorities, and affordable housing problems.

This year, the city will receive approximately $768,000 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to aid low-to-moderate residents and communities, according to the City of Lewisville. The Advisory Committee was instructed to set priorities and projects that will be funded by grants. Previous projects have embraced homebuyer grants, street, and sidewalk replacements, and park improvements as well as social services for health care, seniors, and domestic abuse victims.

The Advisory Committee also suggests additional funding for programs and services in the nonprofit sector.

The city relies on the comments and suggestions from the public and community organizations to understand what could assist the community and make decisions on how to best use grant funds.

The Advisory Committee will discuss funding Dec. 15 at 6:30 p.m. via a Zoom virtual meeting.
