Reports reveal that a new analysis lead has been formed to assist industry, municipalities and public agencies to engage in real-world transportation tests through innovative connections with universities across Dallas-Fort Worth.

The North Central Texas Council of Governments is teaming up with the Texas Research Alliance and four universities in the area that have formed the North Texas Center for Mobility Technologies (NTCMT).

NTCMT covers the University of North Texas, the University of Texas at Arlington, the University of Texas at Dallas, and Southern Methodist University. The plan will authenticate a community-driven path to supplying the region’s employers with experts in their field and the research capability required to maintain leaders in transportation technology innovation.

“Today’s challenges are best addressed through strategic partnerships, and that is exactly what we are creating by bringing together leaders in higher education, industry and transportation,” Victor Fishman, executive director of the Texas Research Alliance, said in a press release. “Ultimately, the relationships cultivated as part of this exciting new venture could lead to partnerships that help the region take today’s ideas and turn them into tomorrow’s mobility solutions.”
