The City of Corinth received the highest honor for its handling of government finances for the 11th year in a row.
Corinth was recognized with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. Corinth's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report met high standards for clearly showing the city's financial history and encouraged people to review the report. according to a release on its website.
"This achievement is a remarkable testament to the level of governmental accounting and financial reporting our staff has set forth," Corinth City Manager Bob Hart said.
The city called the award a "significant accomplishment" and will hold the title for a year. He added he is thankful for the staff's work to create "quality reports."
