Alexis Hyder Named Video Coordinator

Joining the North Texas women's basketball staff for the 2022-23 season as the video coordinator will be former player, Alexis Hyder. Hyder played for UNT, LSU, and has played professionally overseas for five years.

 

"I had the pleasure of recruiting Alexis to North Texas", head coach Jalie Mitchell said. "Over the last ten years, I have watched her compete and contribute to our great game in many ways. I am honored to be a part of her continuing basketball career, and believe she has a lot to gift back to our young women.  Mean Green family, please help me welcome Alexis back to the Super Pit!"

 

In her five years of playing professionally, she was in Sweden for three of them, one summer in Australia, and finished it out in Greece. She got into the coaching world as the video coordinator for FIU. She spent one season with the Panthers in 2019.

 

Hyder was electric for the Mean Green in the 2012-13 season she averaged a team-best 14.2 PPG, 8.8 RPG, and was seventh in the Sun Belt in blocks. She was a Third Team All-Sun Belt Conference selection. Hyder closed her career out strong, averaging 18 PPG over her last six games including a career-high 25-point outing in the First Round of the Sun Belt Tournament.

 

An Austin, Texas native, Hyder graduated from LSU with a degree in Sports Administration and a minor in Business.
