Effective immediately, the Denton County Burn Ban was lifted by Denton County Commissioners Court on Tuesday after the court received an update from Denton County Fire Marshal Brad Sebastian.
The ban had been in effect since July. However, with recent weeks of rainfall and a 14-day forecast showing additional rain, drought conditions in Denton County have improved.
With the recent and projected rainfall, “any potential fires would be easily contained,” Fire Marshal Sebastian said.
Counties to the north and west have recently lifted burn bans, including Cooke and Wise counties.
