PIONEERS FACE OFF AGAINST CAMERON IN SECOND LSC GAME

The holiday season has begun. Lights are twinkling around the city, and the temperatures are dropping. To celebrate the upcoming holiday season, the Texas Woman's basketball team looks to continue to shine this Saturday in Kitty Magee Arena.

In their final home game of 2022, TWU faces Cameron on Saturday afternoon.

TWU (6-1, 1-0) recently opened Lone Star Conference play with a 20-point win over Midwestern State. Cameron (2-4, 0-1) lost their conference opener on the road to UT Tyler, 61-58.

The Pioneers will tip off with the Aggies at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Kitty Magee Arena.

WALKING IN A WINNING WONDERLAND

  • DEFEND HOME COURT: Defense continues to be a highlight for the Pioneers. They will need to continue to protect home court and defend well against the Aggies on Saturday. In their loss on Wednesday, Cameron turned the ball over 19 times, and their opponent scored 16 points off those turnovers. Cameron also averages 16.2 turnovers per game. If the Pioneers can force turnovers and score points off those turnovers, then they can secure the win on Saturday.
  • WRAP UP THE BOARDS: In their win over Midwestern State, the Pioneers matched their season high in offensive rebounds at 15. TWU also outrebounded the Mustangs 47-33. Owning the rebound battle will be a huge advantage for the Pioneers in the game against Cameron.
  • GIFTS ALL AROUND: TWU has excelled in having multiple threats on offense. In their last game, eight different Pioneers scored and three scored in double digits. Having multiple threats on offense allows the Pioneers to open the floor and makes them more difficult to defend. TWU also owned the paint against the Mustangs, scoring 40 points in the paint. The Pioneers still struggle to shoot consistently from outside, but as they continue to improve, they will be a complete threat on the offensive end.
