Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Vice Chairman of the House Rules Committee, released the following statement after voting in support of H.R. 3799 – the CHOICE Arrangement Act. This legislation will allow America’s small businesses to provide their employees with high-quality and affordable health care insurance coverage.
“Our economy rests on the backs of American small businesses and allowing these businesses the ability to better care for, retain, and recruit employees is important,”said Burgess. “I firmly believe that an ounce of prevention is pound of cure. It is expensive and challenging for small businesses to provide health insurance coverage for their employees. Allowing small businesses to join together in purchasing plans lowers the cost and allows employers to provide better coverage for their workers. This legislation is common sense that should be common practice.”
