Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Vice Chairman of the House Rules Committee and Chairman of the House Budget Committee Health Care Task Force, has written a letter urging the establishment of the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) in North Texas. In his letter to Dr. Renee Wegrzyn, Director of ARPA-H at the Department of Health and Human Services, Congressman Burgess highlighted the advantages of locating ARPA-H's customer experience hub in the region.

Congressman Burgess emphasized that North Texas, particularly Pegasus Park in Dallas, offers an ideal setting for ARPA-H's hub due to its strong network of renowned health and research institutions. He stated, "Texas boasts a strong network of world-renowned health and research institutions that align with ARPA-H's core capability needs, from clinical trials to advanced manufacturing. These institutions have a history of translating scientific research into clinical treatments and will be instrumental in ARPA-H's success. Pegasus Park in Dallas offers fully equipped office and convening spaces, fostering collaboration and innovation. It is home to a thriving ecosystem of life science companies, universities, startups, accelerators, and nonprofits dedicated to improving human health."
