Washington, D.C. - Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Chairman of the Rules Committee, hosted students from the University of Texas at Dallas in his Rules Committee office.
During the meeting, Chairman Burgess highlighted his tenure in Congress and the health care legislation he is championing for the remainder of his term. Chairman Burgess emphasized the role that students play in their patients' lives as doctors and encouraged them to continue advocating for the U.S. health care system.
"Today's discussion with the students from University of Texas at Dallas reassured me that patients in our state will be well taken care of and prioritized," said Chairman Burgess. "I am inspired to see the impact these physicians will have on our community as they continue learning and developing management expertise to better advocate for their patients. In a world where there is increasing government encroachment of insurance costs, the patient now more than ever needs a competent representative. I was grateful to meet with them and share about legislation that will increase competition, price transparency, and lower health care costs in America. I wish these students all the best in their educational studies and future success."
