Denton County Public Health (DCPH) announced four Denton County community members died as a result of COVID-19, bringing the total to 830 deaths due to COVID-19 in Denton County. Today’s reported COVID-19 deaths include:
- A male in his 70s who was a resident of The Colony
- A male in his 70s who was a resident of Prestonwood Rehabilitation in Plano
- A male in his 50s who was a resident of Carrollton
- A male in his 70s who was a resident of Lewisville

DCPH also announced 58 new cases of COVID-19 in Denton County, of which 29 are active cases. This increases the cumulative, countywide total to 179,201 COVID-19 cases. DCPH also reported 157 newly recovered cases of COVID-19, increasing the countywide recovery total to 175,723.
Beginning next week, DCPH will provide weekly press releases on Fridays with totals of new cases and recoveries, as well as COVID-19 community level updates. New and/or unreported deaths will also be totaled weekly and reported in the weekly press releases. Dentoncounty.gov/COVIDstats will continue to be updated daily with new cases and recoveries. To minimize spread of COVID-19, DCPH urges community members to:
- Get vaccinated and boosted when eligible
- Test five days after exposure or if you have symptoms of COVID-19
- Isolate, quarantine, and wear a mask when recommended
