Washington, D.C. - In response to President Biden's State of the Union address, Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Vice Chairman of the House Rules Committee, expressed disappointment and criticism. Burgess stated, "Once again, Americans across the nation were left disappointed with President Biden’s State of the Union address. For over an hour, President Biden praised Bidenomics, blamed Republicans for the border crisis he has created, and continued to encourage extreme green-energy, pro-abortion, and anti-innovation policies."

Burgess highlighted the challenges faced by Texans, emphasizing the impact of issues such as the surge in crime due to the crisis at the southern border and the healthcare workforce shortage. He remarked, "Texans are suffering daily from the surge in crime due to the crisis at our southern border and the health care workforce shortage, causing decreased access to affordable, quality care."

The Congressman criticized President Biden for what he perceives as a lack of action and cooperation with Congress. Burgess asserted, "President Biden continues to ignore and refuses to work with Congress to put the needs of the American people first." He further stated, "House Republicans have provided a plan that will secure our border, bolster American energy dominance, and protect Americans from paying high health care costs."

In conclusion, Burgess called for a change in leadership, stating, "Now, we need a President that will execute these policies for the American people because clearly, President Biden is not up for the challenge."
