Washington, D.C. - Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Vice Chairman of the House Rules Committee and Chairman of the House Budget Committee Health Care Taskforce, released a statement regarding the House Budget Committee's Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Resolution.
In his statement, Congressman Burgess expressed concerns about the current state of affairs under the Biden Administration, stating, "With the Biden Administration's reckless government spending and record high inflation, the American taxpayers have had enough." He highlighted the importance of the Fiscal Year 2025 Budget, emphasizing the commitment to implementing pro-growth tax policies that aim to boost the U.S. economy by $3 trillion over the next decade and promote job creation in local communities.
Burgess further criticized the Biden Administration, pointing out the challenges faced by American taxpayers due to high prices, potential threats to energy independence, and national security risks. He referred to President Biden's State of the Union speech, where Bidenomics was promoted, and emphasized the need to address the issues created by the current administration through measures to lower inflation, enhance border security, and improve Medicare and Medicaid benefits for citizens, resulting in $8.7 trillion in savings over a ten-year period.
The Congressman highlighted the focus of House Republicans on advancing legislation that prioritizes 'America first' policies, aimed at enhancing the nation's prosperity instead of supporting agendas that do not align with their vision. Burgess concluded by stating, "Now that is a budget that works for the American people."
