A grant program to help businesses pay their mortgage or rent has been established in the City of Coppell.

The Coppell CARES Business Rent/Mortgage Assistance Grant program will help "assist local business that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic," according to the city

Grants will be considered as gross income, which means they are taxable to a business receiving them under the Internal Revenue Code. The grant is designed to assist small businesses that have suffered financial distress due to COVID-19 restrictions with rent or mortgage payments. The application period continues until all funds have been distributed or Oct. 30.

Businesses can access the grant application online, and provide the number of years the business has been operating in the city, the number of employees it has, and whether the business is operating under coronavirus restrictions or if it is temporarily closed. More information on the grant can be found online.
