The North Texas swimming and diving team earned Scholar All-America Team status this week from the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America.
The teams were selected based on qualifying criteria for the Spring 2022 team GPAs, and the Mean Green posted a 3.6 as a team. It marks the 18th consecutive year the team has received the honor.
North Texas had 25 of their 28 team members make the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll for the spring semester with a 3.0 GPA or higher, while 10 team members earned the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal for a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher for the 2021-2022 academic year.
"I'm thrilled that our Mean Green swimming and diving team members were able to have such a strong showing in the classroom this academic year," UNT head coach Brittany Roth said. "Our student-athletes continue to achieve in the classroom and in the pool. I'm proud of their efforts as a team, boasting our program's highest team point total in the Conference USA Championships, and I'm proud of their achievement of earning a 3.6 team GPA."
