PIONEERS MOVE TO #12 IN THE NWCA RANKINGS
It's only up from here, as the Pioneers move to #12 in the NCAA Women's Coaches Rankings.
On Nov. 17, the Pioneers made their first appearance as #13 in the NWCA rankings, a first for their inaugural season.
Since then, TWU traveled into the valley to compete in the Missouri Valley Open Nov. 18-19. Six Pioneers registered team points, including Aubrey Yauger for a total of 13 points, and Kira Phillips who registered 7.5 points.
On Dec. 3, the Pioneers hosted their first tri-dual against Schreiner and Colorado Mesa. Although the Pioneers split the dual, they recorded their first home win against Schreiner 25-23.
Mercedes Nerios, Kira Phillips, Poorna Babu, Yauger, and Shean'areial Miller recorded wins against Schreiner.
Yauger recorded her second win of the night over Jayleen Sekona of Colorado Mesa. This marks her third win over Sekona this season. Yauger remains second in her 191 weight class.
If you missed the Pioneers this 2022 season, don't fret, because the Pioneers will be back in action on Jan. 8, 2023 for the Bronco Open in Hastings, Nebraska.
