Enrollment Analysis: Hispanic students comprised 19.8% of Leadership Prep School District's student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 267 Hispanic students enrolled in Leadership Prep School District in the 2022-23 school year, 3.6% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Leadership Prep School District welcomed 1,351 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 19.8% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Leadership Prep School District roughly covers schools within Denton County and has a main office in Frisco.

Among the two schools in Leadership Prep School District, Leadership Prep School Secondary recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 199 students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
