Enrollment Analysis: multiracial students comprised 1.2% of Alvord ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 10 multiracial students enrolled in Alvord ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 66.7% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Alvord ISD schools welcomed 821 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, multiracial students comprised 1.2% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Alvord ISD roughly covers schools within Wise County and has a main office in Alvord.

Among the three schools in Alvord ISD schools, Alvord High School recorded the highest enrollment of multiracial students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of five students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
