Men's Basketball Travels To UTA

The North Texas men's basketball team will make the short drive down I-35 Tuesday night to face UT Arlington in a battle between Metroplex rivals.

The Mean Green (6-2) and Mavericks (4-5) are scheduled to tip-off Tuesday from the College Park Center at 7 p.m. CT. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield on the Varsity Network app.

UNT has won three in a row over UT Arlington and beat them last season 64-36 at the Super Pit. Returners Abou Ousmane and Tylor Perry combined for 23 points in the win and were an efficient combined 50 percent from the floor.

Under sixth-year head coach Grant McCasland, North Texas is 3-1 all-time versus UTA. They are 1-1 in Arlington with the victory coming in their last meeting at the College Park Center in 2019.

North Texas is coming off a 30-point home victory over Omaha on Saturday. Ousmane scored a game-high 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting and the Mean Green knocked down 9-of-15 from deep in the second half to pull away from UNO.

UNT heads into Tuesday's contest having won nine of its last 11 road game dating back to last seasons.

After Tuesday's matchup the Mean Green will travel to Phoenix on Saturday to face Grand Canyon as part of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Jerry Colangelo Classic held at the Phoenix Suns' Footprint Center.
