Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, released a statement following the 2024 Presidential Debate.

"Tonight’s debate has been a crucial step in the right direction as Americans decide their next leader this November," said Chairman Burgess. "Americans are experiencing loose borders, record high inflation, rise in crime, and international security risks every single day. Tonight, we heard the candidates’ plans on how our nation should move forward. This week, the House Rules Committee countered the influence of foreign adversaries in our country by passing appropriation bills that strengthen our national security and international standing. Now it is up to the next President of the United States to show his commitment to Americans and stand by the true values and beliefs of our great nation."
