There were 29,248 students enrolled in Northwest ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 6% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51% of them were boys, and 49% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 52.8% of the Northwest ISD total enrollment.

Northwest ISD roughly covers schools within Denton County with its main office in Justin.

Among the 33 schools in Northwest ISD, V. R. Eaton High School recorded the highest enrollment of 3,273 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
