Final touches were underway this week at Santa’s Village, which is preparing to open next weekend at it’s new temporary location.
Workers are busy finalizing decorations on 60 trees, placing more than 5,000+ ornaments, and putting the final new coats of paint on village dwellings. The Village takes a little more than six weeks to construct, and more than 1,000 children are expected to take photos with Santa during the event.
Santa’s Village, Richardson’s holiday “city within a city,” will officially open Saturday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. Due to the Aug. 22 fire at City Hall, Santa’s Village has a new home this year at Huffhines Park. Visiting Santa’s Village has been a holiday tradition for area families for more than 30 years.
